New State League coach, Eric Jenny has some exciting youngsters coming of age in the Altona State League side. Eden Hanna-Roberts, who has just turned 21 leads an exceptionally talented group of young guns in the State League team. Eden, a former Under 18 State Team captain has current Under 18 Victoria player, Jett Lewer alongside him in attack as well as last year’s Under 18 Victoria representatives, Adam Harper and Gabe Bleed running through the midfield. Last year’s Victoria goalie, Mitchell Kukucka is also in the team as is defender Daniel Fautua who was an Under 18 state representative two years ago. That is six Altona players 21 years old or younger who have represented Victoria at Under 18 level.
There is also another group of Under 21 lacrosse players knocking on the door, for what is the beginning of a golden era for Altona Lacrosse Club. Those players are Riley Thomas, Oliver Struhs, Lincoln Struhs, Darcy Liptak, Jia McGee and Ethan Maher.
Eric coached Surrey Park to a State League Premiership and has also coached State League at Williamstown and Altona. Eric is well known as one of the best coaches for developing young players.
All Altona members should be excited for what we can expect from this group over the next few years under Eric’s guidance.
