Then lacrosse might just be the sport for you.

Lacrosse is played by men and women and boys and girls so it is a sport the whole family can be involved in.

At Altona Lacrosse Club, we cater for players from 5 to 55, male and female. We welcome new players and we have players who have represented Australia.

If you are interested in playing our great game then we would love to hear from you. We can assist with all the equipment you need until you fall in love with the sport and decide to buy your own!

Children are always welcome with the competition grades in Under 10 and Under 12 being mixed and from then on, the opportunity is there to play in boys or girls sides. Lacrosse is a non-contact sport in Women and the younger grades however, in mens, as players get older the amount of contact increases.

In senior grades we have various sides that cater for players of all standards. Our Community Cup team is a mix of new players with older players still playing for the fun of the game. It is very much a social side. As your skills improve, you will have the opportunity to play in our reserves side which is a mixture of players with a bit more experience and ambition with some of our excellent juniors waiting for the chance to play State League. Our top side is State League and it is made up of the best players at the club and includes Australian team members and overseas stars.

For women, we are hoping to start a senior team next year so it is a great time for new players, or those that have not played for a while or who want to come to a new club to get involved.

What the Altona Lacrosse Club will offer you.

We will provide you with the opportunity to play our great game whether it be purely for social reasons or to maybe one day have the opportunity to represent Australia, maybe even at the Olympics.

We have the only box lacrosse court in Victoria. Training in a box court is proven to be a great way to develop skills quickly as you are never having to chase the ball over a field. If you miss a shot or a pass, the ball hits the boards and bounces back!

Our coaches will guide you every step of the way and make sure you are taught the skills properly from the start.

We will provide equipment until such time as you wish to purchase your own.

We will provide children with a safe environment and the opportunity to develop their social skills and lacrosse skills in a nurturing environment.
